Engine 471 Assists Units with Chimney Fire in Kingsville (Fire Box 48-4)
January 12th, 2008
At 0905 hours on Saturday, tones were sounded throughout the Northeast portion of the county for reports of smoke coming from a house on Country Hill Court in Station 48s first-due territory. Units from Kingsville, Long Green, Fallston, and Jacksonville responded on the call. Units arrived minutes later to find a two story dwelling with smoke and fire showing from the roof. Although the fifth company dispatched, Jacksonville was the second company to arrive on the scene. As one crew worked to throw ladders, cut a hole, and pull a line to the roof, Jacksonvilles crew assisted units on the first floor and in the attic checking for extension. E471 was on the scene approximately one hour assisting to knock down the fire and perform overhaul before being released at 1015 hours. E473 maintained a standby crew at the station for the duration of the incident.
