Jacksonville Responds to Three Alarm Apartment Fire (Fire Box 1-29)

September 18th, 2006

As it approached late afternoon on Monday, Towson's Engine 101 was dispatched to investigate an odor of smoke in an apartment complex on Treeway Court. E101 arrived and reported heavy smoke and fire showing and requested a fire box. Moments later, a working fire profile was dispatched, bringing Air Unit 478. As the fire conmtinued to progress, command quickly requested a second alarm. A third alarm was requested minutes later as the fire spread across the roof of the garden style apartment building and into additional units. After clearing a call in Providence's first-due, Jacksonville's Paramedic 475 was picked up as the fifth medic requested to the scene of the fire. Units operated on the scene for several hours. The crew on the air unit filled numerous bottles while the medic unit was in staging and eventually moved to the scene to assist with rehab.
