Units Respond for Tow Truck vs. Pole (Rescue Box 47-13)

March 10th, 2006

Early Friday night, units from Jacksonville and neighboring companies were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident with people trapped in the area of Sweet Air Road and Baldwin Mill Road. Initial reports advised that a vehicle had ran down an embankment and a small child might be injured. Engine 473 responded in less than one minute and was followed closely by Medic 475. Units arrived on the scene to find a tow truck that had slid approximately 30 feet off of the roadway and collided with a utility pole. Command was established by the officer of Engine 473 as crews began investigating. It was discovered that all occupants had climbed out of the vehicle prior to the arrival of fire department units. The rescue assignment was cleared. Station 47 units operated on the scene for approximately 20 minutes attending to victims of the accident and assisting Baltimore County Police.
